Andrew Berger will be speaking about statutory damages in copyright litigation at the  Advanced Seminar on Copyright Law sponsored by PLI in New York City on April 30, 2010.

On March 1, 2010,  Michael G. Tannenbaum is scheduled to moderate an industry panel at the GAIM Ops conference at the Ritz Carlton Hotel, Grand Cayman, with regard to current trends in the area of fee structures. lock ups, gates and other liquidity factors that are being negotiated by investors and managers.

In March 2010,  Michael G. Tannenbaum will moderate a panel discussion at the 11th Annual Private Investment Funds Conference of the International Bar Association in London, England, regarding trends and new developments in connection with utilizing managed investment accounts instead of comingled investment vehicles to manage assets.

Andrew Berger will be speaking at 2009 National Conference of the Appraisers Association of America to be held at the New York Athletic Club on Sunday November 8. His topic will be “Hey, That Looks Like Mine: When is Appropriation Art Infringing.”

Paul D. Sarkozi will speak on a panel at the Practising Law Institute New York Center on July 29, 2009 at 3 pm.  The program, entitled "This Really Happened: A Review of Real World Ethical Issues," will feature examples of ethical issues actually confronted by practicing attorneys.  Topics include a lawyer's liability for misconduct of local counsel and the degree to which attorneys may have investigators engage in deceptive conduct to zealously represent clients.  [Program]

Scott E. Furman, Andre R. Jaglom and L. Donald Prutzman each will chair a panel at the Fall Meeting of the International Section of the New York State Bar Association in Singapore, October 26-29, 2009 at the Swisshotel: The Stamford. Scott's panel will cover "Environmental Law and Energy Issues: Understanding the Role of Subsidies in the Burgeoning Renewable Energy Market." Drew's panel will be on "Best Practices in International Distribution Contract Drafting: A Guide to Key Contract Provisions Viewed from New York, Asia and Europe." Donald will chair a program entitled "Are You Exhausted Yet?  How Differences in Intellectual Property Exhaustion Rules Affect International Transactions."

Andre R. Jaglom will chair his annual program on Product Distribution and Marketing in Chicago June 2-4, 2010. The program covers all aspects of distribution and marketing law, from antitrust and franchise law to intellectual property and international distribution, and addresses practical issues such as drafting distribution contracts and negotiating and litigating distribution disputes. This year's program will address continuing developments following the Supreme Court's landmark 2007 decision in the Leegin case, which overturned the century- old per se rule against resale price maintenance. In addition to planning and chairing the entire program, Drew will speak on the subjects of e-commerce and Internet distribution, drafting distribution contracts, business franchise laws and legal compliance, and will participate on panels addressing acquisitions in the distribution context, distribution disputes, and ethical issues that arise in distribution practice.
